As Zan got up Destiny just stayed seated. Maybe she shouldn't have asked. It was clear no matter how cool he was it was a hard thing to talk about. Sometimes her own curiosity got the best of her. She just hoped now Zan wouldn't be upset with her.
Seeing Zan come back Destiny smiled. Well, at least he hadn't just high-tailed it out of there. When he started to talk Destiny listened. Seeing the sad look in his eyes she felt bad but listened intently to his story anyways. His romance with Isabella sounded like it was a fairy tale, so perfect and they sounded so in love.
Listing about what happened next there was so much emotion in Zan's voice, in his eyes once his face Destiny feels one of her own tears roll down her cheek. What a horrible thing to have happened to someone you loved so deeply. She couldn't even start to imagen how that must feel.
"Zan, I am so sorry. I can't imagen how you must feel but I can tell it hurts a great deal still."
Leaning forward Destiny pushed her plate aside for now and leaned on the little table. It was hard to find the right words to say. She'd dealt with losing someone herself and while it was different maybe they had more in than on than they thought. But still...it was hard to find the words to say.
"Isabella was very lucky to have, had you in her life. I don't think she would ever blame you for what happened, and I can double bet she wouldn't like you blaming yourself either."
Offering another small smile Destiny reached across the table and took Zan's hand in her own giving it a soft squeeze.
"Thank you for telling me. Have to admit, I feel special knowing before Jett."
