Blackmail

Zan smiled at Destiny's reply, and set his phone down  so he could shower. Evenings sure were more enjoyable since meeting her...

On my way.

Zan pulled out from the lot and headed for Destiny's. His hair was still wet, but at least he didn't stink anymore. Getting to her house, he would have gone to the door, but she was ready. As she got in the car, he smiled. "Hi." He was sure she couldn't get any cuter if she tried.

"Any preference on food?" He could really go for a steak but he didn't want to go somewhere she didn't like. "Oh, and I drove past Jett's. His pickup is there, but I've texted him twice and he hasn't replied. Not sure what that means but I'm guessing he's asleep."

Kirk hadn't meant to be mopy lately. He had just been so stressed, that he'd lost focus of what was really important in his life. He'd sacrifice his entire career if it meant keeping Adison in his life.

Just letting the moments slip by, he immersed himself in her sweet affection, giving back just as freely as she gave.

"Reese is on his way here. Just so you know."

Kirk froze, his forehead resting against hers as he scrunched his eyes closed and groaned. He hadn't heard the door. "Ultimate buzz kill..."

"Sorry." Dylan swallowed his grin as he put some papers away in a filing cabinet. It had taken him about thirty seconds of seeing Kirk and Adison together after he'd arrived here to figure out they were a couple. So walking in on them now wasn't exactly a shocker. The fact they were on the floor was a little interesting, but he wasn't gonna say anything. "I'll stall Reese but I can prolly only get away with about two minutes."

As he left, Kirk opened his eyes again and gave Adison a sheepish grin. They really needed to get up before Reese walked in. "Caught by the intern... think he'll ever blackmail us?"

Jason stifled a yawn as he drove, watching the road signs for their exit. It was well after dark, and they had at least two hours left.

He took another swig of water and turned the air conditioning temperature down in an attempt to keep himself alert.

"I'm guessing everybody is gonna be asleep when we get there," he mused. They had opted not to tell anyone they were coming, just in case anything else happened - that way no one would know how long it took them to arrive and be able to figure out where they'd been. "Who do you think we should wake up?"
