Eli's eyes sparkled as he smiled at his sister. He was glad to see
the happiness on her face. He wouldn't know what to do if she didn't
approve of him and Scarlet. "Thank you. This way if she hates it, I can
blame you." He stuffed the rest of his sub in his mouth and crumpled up
the wrapper. "I'll take some pictures on my phone and show them to you
sometime here soon so you can see and help me decide."
He paused, looking over at her once more. "And thanks for not being too upset about the whole Elite thing. I'll tell Hunter soon too so at least it won't be too hard to keep it all under wraps within our small group."
Kirk sighed as he walked alongside Adison, and he shook his head. "Hate to break it to you, but I already feel like the odd man out." He didn't mean to snap, but as it came out of his mouth, it sounded grumpier than he'd intended. He wanted Adison's help. He respected it. He needed it. He just felt like nobody agreed with anything he said.
He fell silent the rest of the walk back to their cubicle where he sank down into his chair and thought for a few minutes. Eventually, he picked up the phone. "Hey, Sam... Kirk here. Listen, um... we've had an interesting
development at the office and I'd like you to come in. Are you free
right now?"
Garret threw Nate a wry grin before heading back inside with him. He did feel rather good that Nate approved of what he'd done. He didn't need Nate's approval, but being his friend, it was important to him. Which was exactly why he was going to want Nate's help in finding an apartment.
Dylan sat down at the break room table and peeled a banana for his lunch before fishing his phone from his pocket. Chewing thoughtfully, he typed out a text to Ashlee with his free thumb.
Hey. How's Seven?
He hadn't heard how things turned out the other day, and hoped no news was good news. But his curiosity was getting to him... as was his nervousness. If he was going to end up going home to find an empty stall, he'd rather know about it beforehand.
