Hunter's eyes widened and he looked to Jett. "You do not want to see her when she gets hangry."
Jett just grinned and shook his head. "I'll take your word for it. See you guys at the Hangout."
"You got it." Hunter waved him off before turning to Ryan and draping his arms over her shoulders. "Well... shall we?" He placed a kiss on her lips before drawing back, his eyes twinkling. Taking her hand, he led the way back to his motorcycle. "You'll have to give Eli a bad time later," he mused. "Apparently a date night with Scarlet was more important than the races." He rolled his eyes. "Some guys just don't understand priorities."
Zan quirked an eyebrow at Destiny's tone. He hadn't seen her quite like this before, but his surprise was enough to at least make him rethink his perspective. He glanced down at her hand, and let his thumb run over her knuckles. It wasn't like he wasn't used to losing. He didn't mind it that he wasn't first. It was that he hadn't put Thunder in his place. That was the real clincher, and that's what was making him kick himself now. He was glad Destiny had faith in him - it meant a lot - but was it enough?
"I guess I just don't have the same faith you do," he admitted. Sighing, he forced a thin smile. "Thanks, though. I'm glad you were here even if I did suck tonight. I..." He smirked as his phone buzzed and he glanced at the text message. "Jett. He and Hunter and Ryan are headed to the Hangout." Looking back to Destiny, he tried to push aside all his negative feelings. It wasn't fair to her to ruin the evening just because he'd lost the race... and some money.
"You know... having you around... you sorta have a way of making things not look quite as bad." He shook his head. "I can't stay miserable even when I want to." Reaching up, he brushed her cheek before sliding his hand around to the back of her head, bringing her close as he leaned in to kiss her lips gently. "Wanna go hang out with the others for a little bit?"
Alec tried to compose himself and just nodded to Misty. He didn't have a clue what his life was going to be like now, but he trusted Misty. She'd been there for him when no one else had, and he never would forget that. "Okay... I'll still be here." He moved down a little and leaned back in his pillow, feeling quite exhausted all of a sudden. He really didn't like the nurse poking and prodding, but he was too tired to complain. Soon, he'd drifted off again, thought his mind was anticipating seeing Misty again, and Carson.
The restaurant wasn't too busy at the moment, which was a nice reprieve from the hectic lunch hour they'd had. Carson took a swig of coke from his glass before returning to the sink, scrubbing some pans while the girls cleaned tables and helped the few customers.
Hearing the bell on the door, he glanced out and was surprised to see Misty. Usually she let him know if she was going to stop by. They'd made plans for supper tonight, so her presence hadn't been expected. Not that he minded.
He dried his hands and went out behind the counter to greet her, smiling out from under his ball cap. "G'day," he greeted. "What's a fine sheila like you doin' wandering in at this hour?" Though he was teasing, he suddenly sensed something wasn't right. She looked happy but... her expression said there was something more going on than just her stopping by to say hi. His own expression changed to one with more concern. "Everything alright?"
