Sworn to Secrecy

Mick smiled as Rosetta kissed him, and rubbed her arm lovingly. "Thanks. Just keep reminding me of that, okay?" He sighed and stared up into the dark. He knew he needed to get to sleep or he'd be exhausted tomorrow, but his mind was still full. "Twelve weeks," he mused quietly. "It seems so short, and so long at the same time."

Dylan yawned and closed his eyes, but they flew open again as his phone vibrates under his pillow. Pulling it out and seeing Ashlee had texted him back, his eyebrows rose. He honestly hadn't expected a reply, let alone at this hour.

As the next couple messages followed, his lips curled into a smile. He could feel the expression on her face, and for a moment, the ranch didn't seem so far away.

Good.
No need to promise...
it's yours.

He waited a moment to send another.

:)

Sliding his phone back under his pillow, he rolled over and closed his eyes. In spite of his determination to be here, he couldn't help the butterflies in his stomach. Tomorrow he'd get to see the Elite office and start a new adventure. It's what he wanted, right? To get away from the ranch and see and do new things?

He started to drift off when a distant car alarm made him jump. His ears picked up a revving engine, and someone rattling some garbage cans. He'd forgotten what it was like to live with city noise. But he'd get used to it... right?

Zan's jaw dropped. "Scared? Me?" He ate some more popcorn. "Of course I am. You're gonna beat me and I'll never live it down."

He nudged her with his arm. "You're now sworn to secrecy if I lose. It's a rule." No sooner had he said it and in the game he died again. His mouth opened and he dropped a piece of popcorn. "Okay that's it. Gloves are coming off now."

Stretching out his legs, he propped them on the coffee table instead, then snuggled closer right up next to Destiny. "Maybe you're the cheat."
