Won't Mind

Hunter had gone back to fiddling with his phone, but as Ryan spoke, he stopped. Turning his head to look at her, he felt badly. She sounded so... unlike herself. At least unlike the Ryan he'd known from a distance. He couldn't imagine how hard it was for her right now. How scary it must be to think she was losing her mind.

Setting his phone face down on the nightstand, he settled in a little more and put his arm up and around her so she could use him as a pillow if she wanted.

"I'm sorry." He kept his voice soft in the darkness. "Facing the dark alone is scary. But... you know you're not alone, right? I mean... you've got your brother... and..." He paused. "There's lots of people here who care even if they don't know you yet. Nobody will call you crazy or think you're silly."

He tightened his grip just a little. "If you fall asleep, I won't mind, okay?"
