Pushy

Hal hadn't meant to make Sam uneasy, and his eyes automatically fell to the table before sweeping the room again rather than looking directly at her. "Naw, I'm fine," he answered quietly. "Just, it..." He finally caught her eye and shook his head, forcing a crooked smile. "It's all good."

"Gah!" Kirk flailed his arms as he thought he was going to tip over, then threw Adison an annoyed - but humorous - look. "No. She never did. I guess you'll have to teach me my manners."

At the little outburst, Hal's attention was diverted, and he picked up a menu to give himself something to do. Lots of finger foods, appetizer-type options, and sandwiches. They did have a nice variety.

Kirk nudged Adison with his elbow. "Oh, I suppose you can have some nachos. We should get a large order and split it."

It didn't take long for them all to decide, and their food came quickly. Conversation was light - led mostly by Kirk. He munched on another nacho and sighed with content. "Mm... Good stuff." He glanced at Adison. "Good choice."

Hal grinned a little as he worked on his sandwich, but was quiet. He wasn't being antisocial - he was just letting the other three do the talking as he listened.

Hunter held his smile and nodded to Ryan. "Sure thing." He let her keep hold of the reins, clipping a lead rope into Buttons' halter that he'd left on under the bridle. He led her over to where Bonzai was and mounted up himself. Bonzai was taller, making it easy for Hunter to keep hold on the rope and lead Buttons beside him at a slow walk.

Bonzai side stepped multiple times, forcing Hunter's leg to bump Ryan's, and Hunter smirked. "Cut it out," he chided the horse. He looked over at Ryan and rolled his eyes. "He likes to get pushy."

"Hey... How's it going?" Dylan rode up to them on Seven.

"Great! We're just gonna take it slow here a few minutes."

Dylan nodded knowingly. He knew well enough how to handle new riders. "Use the whole corral. Seven and I will stay out of the way."

"Eh. No worries. Buttons seems pretty laid back."

"She is. I don't think I've ever seen her even a little agitated."

"See?" Hunter looked back to Ryan. "Perfectly fine." He kept leading her around the corral for a while, letting her get used to things. "Wanna try it on your own? She'll just follow Bonzai right along like she has been..."
