Pool

Jeff took Ryan under his wing for feeding time, letting her help divvy out grain to the hungry horses, and fill water buckets. He talked as they worked, explaining the hows and whys of it all, and inviting her to come back out after breakfast to help move some of the horses. He made sure she knew where the break room was in the barn too...and his personal stash of Pepsi in the refrigerator. By the time they were finished, everyone was headed to the main house for breakfast and more importantly - coffee.

Inside, Hunter was just claiming a table when he saw Jeff and Ryan come in. Smiling, he waved Ryan over and pointed to the two coffee cups he'd already gotten. He'd know she would be right behind him, so he'd poured her a cup, too. He'd also grabbed two plates of toast and scrambled eggs.

Sitting down as she came over, he grinned. "I see you survived helping Jeff. Have fun?"

Hal tried to maintain his dignity, but it wasn't very easy after his bungle. He blinked at Sam then bit his lip to keep from laughing. "Maybe you're right." He shook himself loose of the stray cords. "Darts could be incredibly dangerous. Maybe we should try pool instead."

"Did somebody say pool?" Kirk rounded the corner and skidded to a stop when he saw the mess. "Whoa. Tornado?"

"Uh huh. Named Hal." He knelt down to start picking up random bits and pieces.

Kirk grinned and leaned on the doorway. "Just came by to see how things were going with Aaron. Didn't know I was walking into such aftermath."

Hal rolled his eyes. "Me either."

"So who's playing pool?"

"Nobody at the moment. Sam and I were going to go play darts tonight but I was thinking something with less sharp objects might be in order."

Kirk snickered, and leaned down to pick up some papers that had also gotten knocked off the desk. "Well Adison and I were gonna go shoot some pool. We should all go together. What do you say?"

Hal stood and returned several items to the cupboard before he looked to Sam. "I... think I'll leave that up to Sam since it was her idea."
