Library

Mark was taken aback, and for a moment, didn't say anything. Jamison straightened, and held his chin a little higher. Finally, finally someone was standing up for him.

Eventually, Mark just snorted. "Beginner's luck," he muttered and looked at Jamison. "What'd you do? Bribe Kirk for tips?"

Normally, Jamison would have just hung his head and walked away. But this time, his eyes saw Adison. And this time, his pride wouldn't let him just take it. Taking a brave step towards Mark, his face had turned into a scowl. "You know...it doesn't take a genius to make coffee every day. And yet...you can't seem to make your own. So I wouldn't talk if I were you."

Mark's face reddened. "Big talk in front of the girl. Do you like hiding behind her?"

Jamison moved even closer to where he had to look up at Mark's eyes. He knew he was a whole lot shorter and smaller, but right now, he no longer cared. "I don't hide," he hissed. "Do you? Or would you like to take this outside?"

Mark blinked, then finally just scoffed. "You're not worth it, shrimp. Enjoy the glory today, 'cause it won't last." Turning on his heel, he stalked out of the room.

Jamison growled and turned to lean his back against the wall, and crossed his arms. His eyes glared at the floor. "I don't know why I stay," he muttered. It was rare that he talked to Adison, let alone worked with her, let alone shared anything about himself, but today...was different. "I shoulda taken my mother's advice and taken a job at a library where I'm surrounded by books instead of idiots."

Garret paced the hallway after Laura had handed him the phone, and listened to Nate. He was surprised to hear that Reese finally agreed to the plan, but he was glad. Why was Nate asking him for advice again though? Did he really think he had that much more knowledge to be able to help? No matter the reason, the wheels in Garret's head automatically turned.

"You can handle it however you want...but if it were me, I'd let Jason go about his day. He's been hiding, which means the sniper's gonna be ready. Jason needs to go to lunch, go for a walk, run an errand - any and all of that. Not more than normal, but enough that he's plenty exposed. If he's had a bodyguard, that shouldn't change."

He gestured with his hand, even though he couldn't be seen. It would be easier if he had paper and pen in front of Nate. "Take the rest of the team and form a net. In other words, everyone needs to know where Jason's going to be, and they need to form a perimeter around him - but it's gotta be wide enough that the sniper won't notice. Hard, but not impossible. Eventually, Jason is going to be shot again. As soon as he goes down, someone's gonna have to do some quick thinking to know which direction the shot came from. At that point, whoever on the team that's also that direction needs to close in and find the sniper, simply by looking for someone running."

Garret paused, still pacing. "I could be wrong, but if I had to guess, I'd say the sniper is going to be on foot because it's easier to disappear."
