Tense

Kirk wasn't convinced about Katie's migraines. He didn't know what it was, and he didn't like not trusting her word, but something felt very fishy. On top of that, Misty's story about seeing a mouse just didn't seem to jive either. The only person he would expect to jump at a mouse might be Susanne. Misty just wasn't the type to let a little rodent get to her. But why on earth would she lie about it?

As Jason took held Katie's hand and looked up at her, his eyes widened. He could see the red glowing spiral in her eyes. Rick hadn't been kidding. Something else was going on here. As his emotions heightened even more, his own eyes reflected the yellow Rick had seen earlier, blending with Katie's gaze to morph into a almost a combination of the two. And for a moment, he forgot they weren't alone.

Hal came hurriedly into the infirmary and took a quick glance around to see what was going on. It only took one look to see Jason and Katie were displaying way too much in front of way too many people, and he quickly positioned himself between them and Kirk and Adison. "Hey, guys." He smiled and nodded at the two agents. "Here you are. Reese is looking for you."

Kirk's brow furrowed, but he couldn't argue with that. "Ah. Well, thanks." He nodded to Misty and tried to see Jason and Katie, but Hal blocked his view. "Guess we ought to go see what he wants." He nodded to Adison to follow him out into the hall. As soon as they were gone, Hal grabbed the phone. "Reese? Kirk and Adison are headed your way. Think of a reason you wanted to see them, fast." He hung up and turned back around to stare at Jason and Katie. "I hate to break it to you, but you both got orange eyes."

Jason blinked himself out of his gaze at Katie, but his emotions churned even more as a new kind of fear crept in. What was happening to them?

Rick was in Reese's office as Hal called him, and his eyes widened. Had Kirk and Adison seen what was going on? He quickly left and nodded to them as they approached the office. Once he was in the clear, he sprinted across the main floor, forgetting that there were still new eyes watching. Reaching the infirmary, he skidded to a halt and entered, taking a quick look around. Why was Hal in here? Misty was still cleaning up the mess and Katie was here now too. And her eyes were... "Oh boy..." He came over slowly to look at both her and Jason. "Did Kirk or Adison see you?"

Hal was still standing nearby, now blocking the corner camera from seeing Jason and Katie's faces. "You guys better do something before I move. Sam's watching from the control room."

Outside Reese's office, Kirk stopped and watched where Rick had sprinted, then looked back at Adison. "Something is definitely going on here."

"Mmmm...." Hunter's mind argued with itself. They were fine. They weren't doing anything wrong. But was letting Ryan stay really a good idea? His arm tightened around her and be buried his face deeper into her shoulder. "I know," he mumbled. "But I should still take you home... Otherwise your brother might kill me..."

He almost drifted off again before he heaved a sigh and finally released his grip. "Come on..." He patted her arm. He knew it was the right decision, no matter how comfortable or innocent they were. It would be too easy for it to become a not so innocent situation. "We'll take my car so you don't fall asleep and fall off my bike."

Clint could feel himself tense, which made Dara fuss, and he sighed. This was just not working at all. He got up from the table and got her to settle down before putting her in her crib, then silently helped clean up the breakfast dishes. He didn't say anything as he donned his jacket and grabbed his keys, but he did return to the kitchen, giving Wendy a soft kiss on the lips. "I'll be back for lunch." Leaving the house, he went for his pickup again, pretending not to notice someone waving a greeting from near the barn. And within minutes, he was gone.
