Lost It

Giving a smile Hope was happy Scott had come. She hated thinking he wouldn't but she never knew if he would on a bad day still too. But he was here now and she was please. He was trying and that's all she ever asked for.

   "Of course you can."

Hope smiled and she stood and started to clean the table. She never minded if Scott stayed. She rather enjoyed having someone else around to keep her company. And she couldn't think of anyone else she would rather have.

"We can watch a movie, or just sit out on the deck with some iced tea."

Helping dish out the strawberry shortcake to them both and going back to the living room Sam was pleased to see Hal was sitting on the couch now too. She hoped he was comfortable enough, or at least warming up to her. She wouldn't think him inappropriate in any means for sitting with her.

"This is not bad at all for being store bought. I need to learn how to bake or cook."

Sam gave a little chuckle taking a bite and looking at Hal for a moment. The night had really turned out good and she was happy she had come.

"I'm glad I did too. Thank you for the invite."

As Clint shifted but didn't say anything about what she asked Wendy looked away as tears formed in her eyes. She didn't understand why he wouldn't do this to help his family. This whole thing was tearing them apart and he refused to see it. Would it take her walking away to finally get him to do something he knew he should? She hated thinking about that...she really did. But how long could she go on doing this?

"Yeah, supper sounds good. Let me call my mom and see if she can."

Not saying anything else Wendy disappeared into the kitchen to call her mom. She knew she would, but it was a good distraction so she could pull herself together before she completely lost it.
