Overjoy

Katie couldn't help but laugh as she whacked the back of Rick's seat. Everyone seemed to be in an ok mood today, even though Jason and herself went feeling that well. A little of the stress was eased knowing they were going to where they could just be them and didn't have to worry about hiding.

   "Does behaving include no smooching? I just want to be clear so we can make it to the ranch in one peice."

Sitting back and smiling Katie ran her fingers over Jason hand as she turned to him and gave a small nod. She hadn't told anyone she was coming either. It had just slipped her mind.

I think your mom will be too overjoyed to see you to even care you didn't tell her. It will be a nice surprise. Then we can fill everyone in, on the the...other news.

   "Of course there will be a next time as long as you want there to be one."

Putting her plate down and leaning back against the couch for a moment Sam just studied Hal for a long moment. He really was a handsome man and she was happy to have befriended him. 

   "Maybe one of these nights too when Adison is over at Kirk's I'll have you over too. Then you won't feel like you always have to cook for me."

Sitting just a few moments longer Sam then collected their plates and forks and stood smiling. 

   "You did dinner dishes, not I get to clean the dessert plates. You can dry if you want."

Hope nodded and finished cleaning up. Soon as she was done and they wondered to the deck it was a nice night out for sure and Hope was pleased. It just felt good to be out there and sit. Looking over at Scott and seeing him start to fall asleep she smiled taking his tea from him and setting it down on the little table next to them.

   "I'm really happy you enjoyed it."

Taking Scott's hand Hope smiled at him before looking back out across the yard. She would let him rest. She was just happy to be here with him and get this time.
