O.o...

Hal felt Sam's fingers brush along his, and he swallowed again. Was she really calling him a good view? His neck grew even warmer and his heart felt like it might just beat out of his chest. "Sometimes the view is good from several angles..." Even lying here with soap bubbles in her hair, Sam was a beautiful woman.

He finally let her go and planted his palms on the floor to gain enough leverage to get up. He didn't realize the soapy water had spread that far though, and before he could stop it, he'd slipped, brining him back down hard. As his chest landed on her, his face stopped barely an inches from hers, and his eyes immediately locked with hers. "Sorry," he whispered. "Gonna have to... clean that up..."

"Um..." Scott released Hope and thought for a moment. "I think... yeah. I think I could handle a little breakfast." Actually, his stomach felt pretty good this morning, which was such a rarity that he almost couldn't tell what actually felt "good" anymore.

He helped her make the coffee and sat down at the table with her a short while later, giving in to Domino's begging by letting her have a corner of his buttered toast. Nibbling on the toast himself, he looked over at Hope gratefully. "Thanks... for letting me sleep here. I actually slept better than I have in... a very long time."

He slid his hand across the table to take hers, and let his thumb run along her fingers. "One good night means there's got to be more, right?"
