Hal quirked an eyebrow at Sam's reference to seeing him through the rec room camera. As in, just in passing, or had she been watching him? He shook the thought from his mind as she moved on. Hearing her question, he tried to smile, but it felt just a little odd that she'd be asking about Jason and Katie since she had very little to do with them. He knew she cared about the people around here, but... why ask about them?
He forced a small smile. "Heard over the grapevine they made it just fine, yeah." He chuckled. "Give them a case and they don't waste any time." That was true statement. "I'm kinda jealous, actually. The Texas ranch sounds like a nice place, even if you're on duty."
He turned his attention back to his computer, and quickly changed the subject. "Aaron take any walks last night?" He was pretty sure the answer was no - ever since Aaron's little confrontation about his place in the Agency, he had moved far less frequently. But at least the conversation wouldn't be about Katie and Jason any more.
Kirk threw Adison a smirk. He'd just as soon forget about how Carson had caught him off guard... and had wielded the upper hand. Unfortunately, he knew it was healthy if he remembered it. "Yeah... yeah, I'll be nice. You come with me so it's not just me this time."
He nodded to Ron. "Thanks for digging. I'll let you know if we find anything."
Heading out of the room with Adison, he aimed for the infirmary. Finding Misty at her desk, he gave her a friendly smile. "Hey... we don't want to keep you... just wanted to pick your brain if that's okay." He grabbed an extra chair and swiveled it around backward to sit, then rolled closer, casually.
"So, we know Jason and Katie were sent to Texas for security, but with everything going on, we couldn't help but notice they'd been sick lately." He shrugged. This was a lot less direct than he was used to, but Adison was right about not riling anyone. "We're just concerned, that's all. With everything going on around here, it feels like we're down two good agents and... I guess we're just wondering what's rest going on, since it's obviously not the flu."
Scott finally withdrew his hand and rolled onto his back to squint up at the fluffy clouds. He believed Hope's words. There'd been a time he hadn't believed she'd actually stick by him... but she'd proven over and over that she would.
"I can't help but think..." His voice was still quiet, though now it seemed he was deep in thought. "I didn't have a nightmare last night, and I haven't had a data attack all morning..." His fingers played in the sand at his sides. "And the only thing that's different is... I've been with you this entire time."
Spinning around in his tracks, Jeff's eyes widened before a huge smile formed. "Katie!" Coming over to her quickly, he immediately wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug and kissed the top of her head. He just held her close for several moments before prying himself away and holding her at arm's length. "What on earth are you doing here?" He glanced at Jason and smirked at him. "You and your scallywag boyfriend."
Jason smirked at him. "Good to see you too."
Jeff grinned as his eyes went back to Katie. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I mean, you're lucky I was here - I've got such a full social schedule."
