Time

Looking at her nephew Angel gave a little not. She knew what Travis was talking about and it hurt her to the core even more. To think someone, anyone had to live like that it was just horrible.

“I know…it’s not fun to be scared at all, but it’s not alright to be reckless and stupid either. You wouldn’t get in the ring with a bull just because you were scared of it would you?”

Angel knew she tone was soft but at the moment she felt it’s what Travis needed and is what would stick the most. Travis had been scared, he had been taken by the Agency but did he really understand how much worse it could be.

“What would you have done if Ashlee was taken? Or if you were out walking and Ashlee got shot, killed right in front of you? You would have had to be the one to come back and tell Stacy that something happened to her daughter because you didn’t follow the rules. I don’t think you would of wanted that at all.”

Giving Travis a pat on the back Angel moved a little to look at her brother. She could see the confusion on his face and felt badly but she had made a promise. It wasn’t her place to tell Travis’ business it was for him to do. She did need to leave him to his father though and whatever punishment he was going to give him.

“I think it’s time you talk to your dad too. He loves you Travis more than anything in this world. Not everyone is lucky to have a love like that from a parent.”

Just staring at the wall as Eric came in and talked the burning tears stung her eyes. Every word Eric said just made her madder. She just wished he would go away and leave her alone. She got it when her mom said she was grounded. Why did he have to be here now too.

“The one hurting me around here is not Travis, he’s been nothing but kind to me. Make sure you shut the door on the way out, I really don’t feel like talking to anyone right now.”

Ashlee couldn’t remember the last time she was this mad at anyone. She didn’t like it at all, and she didn’t like being upset with Eric, but it was there and she hated it.
