Definite Perks

Hearing Ryan, Leo waved a wrench at her. "Better go help Axel at the other end. He's losing his bet."

Axel's head shot up too fast and he hit it on the open hood of the car. Wincing, he smirked at Leo. "Thanks for the vote of confidence there, Pal." He was trying so hard to make light of his bum hand, but it wasn't easy. He'd insisted on coming back to work, but so far... it wasn't going well. Daryl knew he wasn't even half as fast now, and there were many things he couldn't even do, but he'd agreed to give him a chance anyway. And right now, Axel wasn't so sure it had been a good idea.

He looked back down in the hood before bracing a part with his forearm and trying to get a bolt loose with his good hand. Even that was painful though, and as the muscles in his injured palm spasmed, he gave up. Again. Forcing a half smile, he looked over to Ryan and nodded. "He's right. I'm losing. Help me knock him down a peg, will you?"

Aaron did as he was told, without complaint, and went with Sam to the little room next door. Now he knew why Garret had preferred to be in here rather than downstairs. Locked door or not, it was a bedroom, not a cell. Wood instead of metal. A rug on the floor instead of bare concrete. A lamp instead of harsh overhead lights.

Easing down on the bed and stretching out his leg, he sighed as he leaned back against the headboard. "At least I won't have Doctor Grouch glaring at me all day now," he mused. He eyed the room, then the hall, and then looked up at Sam with a sly grin before patting the space on the bed next to him. "Private room. Just you and me. There could be some definite perks. Whadya say?"

Garret was impressed by Sapphire's speed, and even though he wasn't all that savvy when it came to computers, he knew she'd just hacked into the Brookshire system within seconds. "You certainly don't disappoint."

He scrolled through the information she'd pulled up, and nodded. "This is exactly what I need." Her compliment caught him off guard though, and he looked at her for a moment, almost confused. That might have been the first time anyone but Nate had verbally confirmed they thought he could do some good around here.

"Well... all I know how to do is fight," he admitted. "So... if I'm not fighting for the Agency, that means I'm fighting against them. As... long as I keep getting the chance around here." He glanced back at the computer and scrolled a little more before looking to Sapphire again. Justin's words about relationships came back to him. Two way streets. Give and take. It made more sense now after his time at Nate's home. Maybe making friends was finally going to make a little more sense too. "I'm sorry about your brother. I really do hope he's gonna be okay... and not just because of the intel." He pursed his lips in thought. "He might have gone about it all wrong but... he was petrified... which means he was also extremely brave to do what he did."
