Erratic Behavior

Hal chuckled and shook his head at Sam and waved to her as she left. “Thanks – I will.” He took another bite of his taco and sighed with content before rolling his eyes at himself and grinning. Sam was alright. She was very quickly finding her place here, and he was glad.

Aaron blinked as he glanced at the magazines, then looked back up at Sam. First tacos, then magazines? “What is with you today?” He automatically fingered the top magazine, dying to read, then rattled the cuffs on his wrists. “Kinda…hard to read with…you know…not being able turn pages.”

He quirked an eyebrow at her. “Unless you plan to sit here and read to me.” He gave her a wry grin. “I still haven’t gotten a bedtime story from you.”

Scott’s expression grew even more pensive, and for a moment, one might wonder if he’d even heard Hope. He finally shrugged. “Just…thinking. That’s all.” He got up from his chair and aimed for the door. “Thank you.”

Back out in the hall, he went back to his own office and sat back down again, but shifted restlessly. He moved the scrolling data aside on his computer screen and brought up a camera monitor instead to view the main floor, where he spotted Garret in one of the cubicles near Nate. Still not saying anything to Dalton, he got back up again, returned to the hall, and returned to Hope’s office where he sat down again. “What if…you could do something to help someone else, but you were scared? Would you do it anyway?”
