Silly water

Aaron eventually lowered his arm to look up at Sam, and studied her face. His choice. But he had no choices. Not really. No surgery and a future here, behind those cell walls. Or surgery and the same results. Either way he was still a prisoner, so what did it really matter?

“Do it.” He looked to Rick. “At least with mandatory bed rest I won’t have to navigate those stupid stairs.”

“True. But don’t get used to it. You know recovery means a lot more therapy.” Rick nodded to Sam, silently asking her to join him over at the counter, then kept his voice low. “Is there a reason he’s not restrained? He seems okay at the moment, but are you planning on getting him back in cuffs? I really can’t risk him being this free while he’s in the infirmary. It’s too great a risk.”

As Ashlee laughed even more, all it did was encourage Travis’ laughter. They were both contagious, leaving them in an unending cycle of laughing.

Clint paused with shuffling the cards and just shook his head at them, while Jeff snickered again and wiped some tears from his eyes.

“I can’t...stop,” Travis breathed. “You stop.” Bursting out laughing attain, he almost fell out of his chair, making the whole thing even more ridiculously funny. “Can’t...breathe.... I’m gonna die right here... I just... know it.”

Jade giggled at them and leaned into Dan. “I think somebody got a hold of the silly water,” she teased.

Travis flopped forward on the table to hide his face in his folded arms. Under the table, he gave Ashlee’s foot a teasing kick.
