As long as you want

As Ryan nestled into him, Hunter's eyes widened. Her words sent a strange new feeling to his heart. He was... safe to her? Comforting? He curled his arm up around to hold her. His heart rate had picked up just a little. His free hand came up and rested gently on her arm that was across his chest.

Mick's gentle warning came back to him. This wasn't a good idea. It wasn't smart. It wasn't wise. In more ways than one. Yet as he opened his mouth to tell her she should go to her own bunk, he found himself silent. He just couldn't do it. He couldn't turn her away. Not when she... needed him.

Instead, he grabbed the extra blanket on the headboard and threw it over the both of them, letting it unfold to their feet. Reaching over, he turned off the lamp and sighed deeply. His hand returned to her arm now warm under the blanket. "Whenever you want to leave, it's fine," he mumbled. He didn't want her to think he'd be offended if she decided to go to her own bunk. "But you can stay as long as you want."
