Poor Hunter

As Ryan's fingers toyed at the nape of his neck, it took all Hunter had not to visibly squirm, although his shoulders tensed and he cocked his head in an attempt to get away from her teasing. His own arm slipped around her, but only to thump her on the back where no one else could see.

Eli laughed and shook his head. "Nobody's eating any furniture. Come on. I've been keeping the steaks warm." He led the way to the kitchen, letting Scarlet help him with getting the steaks on everyone's plates at the table.

Waiting until they were alone, Hunter finally jerked away from Ryan's hand, just a bit of red coming to his cheeks as his eyes flashed, and he leaned in close. "You're mean," he hissed in her ear.

Shifting down just a little, his lips brushed her neck but he didn't stay. Instead, he straightened again and simply motioned to the kitchen. "Ladies first."

Aaron lost all sense of time, but couldn't care less. It felt so good just being outside, that he could stay out here forever. Sam was right... he wasn't ready to go back in. But he had to face reality.

At her last comment, a laugh surfaced before he could even stop it. "I always wondered what it would be like, being a part of the cool crowd. Can we make a secret password so no one else is allowed up here?"

He sighed and finally sat up. "Pretty sure my knee doesn't want to bend..." Trying to get to his feet proved he was right. "Yep." He looked up at Sam, his expression void of anger, and simply one of tiredness. Then he reached out his hand. "I just need some leverage to get up..."
