Name the Day

Scott kept his eyes down as Hope talked. He wasn't sure he totally believed her. He wanted to. His whole life was in turmoil, so to have anything stable would be nice. But... what if too much changed before he'd be allowed to work again? Or what if he didn't even get better?

He took a bite of his sandwich. It tasted really good and he wished his stomach would cooperate so he could enjoy this more. Still not looking up at Hope, he thought for several long minutes. "You and Justin... tell me I'm not supposed to try being the old Scott anymore but... but that was the me who was a good agent. Ever since... ever since I came back the first time, it... I haven't ever been able to function up to par. What if... what if the new me isn't a good agent?"

He finally looked up at her. Fear was in his eyes now. Fear of the future. Fear of the unknown. Fear of rejection. "What if it turns out... even if Reese wants me... what if I'm just not good enough at my job anymore?"

Jamison had to laugh as he checked his watch. Lucy certainly didn't waste any time. "I've got another half hour today. You can at least show me where you're at."

Scooting over, he made room on the bench beside himself and motioned her over. Taking her calculus book, he thumbed through the pages to get a feel for it, nodding a little and mumbling to himself. "Okay..." He passed it back to her. "Show me how far you are and where you're having trouble."

Listening, explaining, listening again and repeating himself, he proved his knowledge of the subject along with his surprising level of patience. By the time a half hour was up, he'd made her scribble notes in her book to help her remember, and had a sheet of paper with his own notations to help her with her homework.

"You've got this," he encouraged. "It's just gonna take work." He glanced at his watch again. "I gotta get back to work. If you wanna do this again just name the day and time."

Hunter nudged Ryan's foot as she ran it along his leg. She could be quite the tease...And he didn't mind one bit.

Giving a laugh, he reached over and brushed her cheek. "You'll be as good as new in a couple days. For now though, we'll just make sure to move around a lot on our stops. And... we can definitely do snacks. Come on." He slid off the hood and waited for Ryan so he could sling his arm around her shoulders and pull her to the vending machine. "For starters... I need something to munch on..."

Back on the road again, and the time continued to tick. Hunter made sure they made plenty of stops, but they did drive straight through. By the time they reached North Springs, it was late, it was dark, and they were exhausted. At this point, all Hunter wanted to do was fall into bed.

Pulling up to the curb and parking, he looked to the apartment window then smiles at Ryan. "I see lights. Looks like your brother stayed up to see you. Want me to walk you to the door?"

Dylan steered Seven along the path beside Ashlee, trying to enjoy the afternoon. It was a little hard though, after Hunter has left. They hadn't spent much time together this time around and Dylan missed him already. Not that he'd express that to anyone, but it was the truth.

"So..." He avoided a log on the trail as he struck up a new conversation. "You and Travis huh?
