Are you?

"Mmm... an extended lunch, huh?" Jason grinned and waited for Katie to exit her cubicle before slinging his arm over her shoulders and aiming for the exit. "I think that's the best idea I've heard all day."

Getting outside, Jason went to his pickup to drive them both across town. It didn't take long to get their subs and go to the park where he found a big shade tree to sit under. "Tables are boring," he mused, picking a spot where the ground wasn't as bumpy. Settling down and eating, he let his shoulder rest against Katie's, and sighed with content. It was a beautiful day - definitely perfect for a picnic.

It was quiet for a few minutes as they simply enjoyed their lunch, until Jason broke the silence. "Hey, Katie..." His voice had a more serious tone to it, but it was...soft. He picked a tomato off his sub that wasn't supposed to be there. "You and me... we're close, right? I mean... I'm glad we're back together again... are you?"

Despite his stress, Pete chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. Tell you what... It's on me. A 'welcome to your first full day of work.'" It was a hard first task to get thrown into, and Pete knew he himself wasn't in the greatest of moods, but something told him Ron was going to be an important player in the Elite, and Pete did like him.

A while later, they sat across from each other at Tou Han's. Pete took a bit of his sweet and spicy chicken before looking over at Ron. "So... I know nothing about you." He grinned. "Family? Girlfriend?"

Sparky chuckled at Ryan's enthusiasm. "You're not abandoning us. Go on. Just come on over to the tack shop when you're ready. I'll prolly need both your help prying Dylan away from his dream saddle."

Dylan gave his arm a shove. "Last time we were here, you were the one looking at bridles for a whole half hour."

"Yeah well..." Sparky grinned sheepishly. "Can't be my fault all the time."

Hunter laughed and rolled his eyes. "See you guys in a while." He nodded to Ryan. "Come on. Let's go." Breaking away from Sparky and Dylan, he led the way to the lot where he'd spotted the cars, and then found an adjoint shop where sure enough, there were all kinds of parts and accessories.

"Mmm... feel like you're in paradise yet?" he teased Ryan.
