Morning

Pete grinned. Ron certainly like to just jump right in and get a job done. "Alright, well... Scott's been suspended so he's not here at the moment... We might wanna save Garret for later so... that means Susanne would be next."

Not much later, Susanne sat at the table, her expression a worried one. "What's... going in?"

"Just investigating," Pete assured. "You've met Ron?"

"Unofficially." Susanne nodded to Ron. "Reese said he was joining the Elite."

"Yep. So one of his first cases is to figure out who might be leaking information." He went on to briefly explain. "You... wouldn't happen to know anything would you?"

Susanne's face paled slightly. "Me? Well no. Of course not. Why would you think so?"

"I don't. We're just covering all bases. You were abducted by Aaron... you could have reason to want the worst of the worst kinds of people gone."

She swallowed hard. "Sure."

"So... You're okay those six are dead now?"

"Well, being loose, they'd be a menace to society, so I can't say I'm sorry. But why in the world would I be involved? Just because of Aaron?"

"You've seen a lot of bad for a long time." Pete shrugged. "Maybe you think the bad people shouldn't be given the luxury of rehabilitation."

Susanne shrugged. "Might be true. But if you're accusing me of actually being a leak then I'm not sure you're the person I thought you were."

Pete sighed. "We're going to question everyone. It's the only way to narrow it down and-"

Susanne got to her feet. Her neck was growing red. "I have paperwork to do," she informed.

As she walked out, Pete leaned back against the wall. "I... didn't expect her to be that defensive," he admitted.

As Ryan's fingers found his ribs, Hunter tensed. "Ah! Ryan!" He squirmed and laughed. "Stop it!"

He grabbed her arms and wrestled her for a moment. "You already won the card game, what more do you want?!" Breathless, he grinned as he looked up at her, still in his back.

Reached up, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and his eyes caught hers. Suddenly, the atmosphere turned quiet and he swallowed hard. The playfulness dissolved. His gaze crept down to her lips then back up again.

"You should... prolly call it a night," he mentioned quietly. A chill ran down his spine. "Morning... comes early."
