Million Years

Taking another bit of his food Ron couldn't help but smile hearing about Pete's girlfriend. She sounded like a really nice woman who made Pete happy. It was nice to see even though Pete still had a hard life at times good things had come to him. She seemed nice enough he deserved to be happy.

"I'm really sorry to hear about your mom and brother. I am happy you found Nikki though. Sounds like she really makes you happy."

Sipping his water to wash down some of his food Ron sat back for a second. Giving another nod to Pete's question.

"We all went to the academy together, Sam too. I just took a different route than everyone else. I couldn't wait to get away from here and now..I'm back because I missed it. Funny how that works."

Stepping in and feeling Hunter beside her Ryan couldn't help but feel like she was home. A car shop and an auto shop always seemed for her to be comforting. The smells were always the best and she could never tire of them.

Leaning into Hunter and linking arms with him for a second she smiled looking at him and then looking around again.

"This...is better than candy, and now we can enjoy it together."

Moving forward Ryan let her arm fall from Hunter's as she started to look around. Picking up things here and there to look at and read, even to hold things up for Hunter to see too. It was fun finding stuff she didn't even know was around.

"Whoa look at this. It's the new turbo. I haven't actually seen this yet. My car would have loved me forever if I put this in it."

Just listing to Jason Katie nodded as she remembered the time she had bothered Jason a lot about marrying her. It had been one of the many lessons she had learned. The hard way, but a lesson none the less.

Taking another small bite of her sub, Katie wondered where Jason was going with all this. He went from the past to saying he still wasn't ready it was hard for Katie to understand what he was saying.
But she continued to listen.

As Jason reached into his pocket and pulled out the small ring Katie could feel her heart start to beat faster. Reaching out and taking the ring from Jason Katie couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. The ring was so pretty and it meant so much. Jason had done a wonderful job picking it out and it couldn't be more perfect. At one point in time she wanted a wedding ring, but now this meant more to her than anything. It was a start it was a promise.

   "Oh Jason, it's beautiful."

Katie couldn't help the tears that rolled down her cheeks as the smile on her face grew, even more, putting the ring on her finger. Holding her hand out to get a better look she loved how it shined in the sunlight.

"I do still want that with you. I'll wait a million years if I have too. You're the only person I ever truly loved J from the moment I met you."

Leaning in Katie pressed her lips against Jason and just let her emotions show through the kiss as she deepened it. Lunch was forgotten just savoring this moment and not worrying about anything else.
