Loyal

Hunter had given up on sleep and was sitting up in bed surfing the net on his phone. His mind had wandered a long ways away so the knock at the door startled him. Looking up quickly, his surprised turned into a smile. "Hey there." He set his phone aside. "Glad you survived Clint's antics."

He shook his head. "No worries. I wasn't asleep. Just... dealing with insomnia." He grinned a little while biting his lip. The words were on the tip of his tongue but he opted not to say them. His eyes dropped before rising again. "You... headed to bed?"

"Mmm yep." Pete grabbed a chair and turned it to sit in it backwards, leaning his arms on the backrest. "Carson. Ex-Agency. Married to Misty. I put him high on the list because he's been targeted multiple times and has compromised multiple times. He's prone to violence and I could see him wanting to pick off the scum." He  sighed. "Um... Con. Jamie's husband. Half-deaf giant. Got kicked off the police force for brutality but is fiercely loyal. Resigned a while back after an incident, but he came back recently. He's got the skills to be a sniper, but I know for a fact he didn't do the first shooting. I'd bet money he's not a leak but... I know we have to ask everyone."

He paused and glanced back up at the list. "Katie. Great agent. Loyal. From Texas. Came up here to prove something and to follow Jason. She's another one I'd never guess was involved in this. Smart. Heart of gold. The only possible suspicion is all she's been through and seen others go through around here."

Another pause. "Who else? Oh yeah. Chance." He smirked. "Elite agent for a while. Actually, we found out he was a double-agent for some other vigilante organization. He got stripped of his rank and let go. Then Reese got him back and he's been doing odd cases. Most recently he got one of our guys out of the Agency and to a safe place. Okay guy. Kind of a loner and likes doing his own thing. Smart though." He shrugged. Anything more official than that would be in the books.

Carson quirked one eyebrow and kept grinning at Misty. "At this point, you could tell me to paint it hot orange and purple and I would."

He rely didn't care how many times she changed her mind, but it was fun to tease her. Still sitting on her desk, he leaned over, knocking over a stack of papers but ignored it as he met her lips with his. He let it linger, several long moments before pulling away, his cap brim catching her forehead.

"But I'm going to the hardware store now. So text me when you decide and if you can't decide, I'm going with off-white so we can paint over it later."
