Sleep

Clint paused as Angel spoke but only offered a forced, light laugh. "All worrying does is make people grouchy. Besides... there's nothing you can do to fix this one."

Leaving the small building, instead of going back to the garage, he just left it as it was. His route went the short walking distance to his house instead. He figured Wendy had the kids up at the main house for the afternoon with the other youngsters, so this would be quiet. After getting inside, he slipped off his work boots and went to the living room, not bothering to clean up yet. Easing down on the couch, he curled up on his side, careful not to put any pressure on his wrist, and hugged a throw pillow as he closed his eyes. He'd rest a while... then go find Trent to tell him about the pickup... them he'd talk to Mick about quitting... then he'd talk to Wendy tonight about him finding work elsewhere.

For now though, he was spent. And before he knew it, he'd drifted to sleep for far longer than planned...

Hunter grinned and nudged Ryan's foot back. "Whew. Glad I picked an okay spot then."

It didn't take long for them to order, and quite soon, their food had finally arrived. It wouldn't rank high on the health scale, but it did taste very good. Hunter munched on a piece of breaded shrimp and sighed with content. "Mm... been too long since I've been up here. Used to come up here in days I just needed to... think."

He took another bite and studied Ryan for a moment or two. "We can walk at the lake when we're done, if you want. I know a spot that's nice to sit, too, and just watch the water." He really just wanted whatever would be best for her today after all she'd put herself through already this morning.

Garret wandered down the sidewalk, his baseball cap pulled low. He probably shouldn't be out and about like this, but he'd been feeling cooped up. And with not much to do at the office, and only a day left until Nate returned, he'd decided to take a drive, then a walk.

He stopped as he came upon the familiar little restaurant, and he recalled the day he'd arrived. Would he change that if he could? He really wasn't sure. He sighed and was about to move on, but then stopped and turned back. There was some unfinished business here, and for reasons he couldn't explain, he wanted to resolve this one.

After hesitating another moment or two, he finally entered and looked around. It was quite since it was after the lunch rush but before supper. His eyes swept the room. He didn't see Carson. But he spotted a two young women, one of which was the one he wanted to see.

Choosing a chair near the window, he didn't bother looking at a menu, but waited for the waitress to come over, hoping she didn't freak out again. Surely after the initial shock had worn off, she'd be better this time around... right?
