Kinda Quiet

Hal grinned a little at Sam's reactions to his affection, memorizing what she seemed to like most. "Okay," he agreed between more kisses. "How... about-"

"Hal?"

Hal stopped mid-kiss with his lips still on Sam's as Reese's voice came over the phone's intercom.

"Hal, you there?"

He finally withdrew and let his head flop back, closing his eyes. "Yeah?"

"You gonna have those reports finished today? I gotta get my paperwork together for tomorrow."

Hal grimaced. "They'll be on your desk by the end of the day."

"Alright. Thank you."

Hal sighed and slowly lifted his head again, smirking at Sam. "Talk about a buzzkill." His fingers ran lightly around her back. "You. Me. My place. Seven o'clock." He stole another quick kiss before standing, taking Sam with him, and depositing her into her own chair. Sitting back down, he slid over to his desk area and tried to figure out where he'd left off with the paperwork. Focusing was not easy though - not while his heart was still racing and his mind was still four feet away with Sam.

Zan waited patiently for Destiny, and smiled when she reappeared. He wondered if she ever didn't look as pretty as a picture. "Mmm, not really. Although my mouth wants some kind of chicken sandwich. Ever been to Daisy's Diner? Little family-owned place. I think you'd like it."

He walked out with her and opened the car door for her before going around and getting in behind the wheel. It only took a few minutes to get to the little restaurant that was tucked back off the street where most passersby might even miss it. It had a friendly atmosphere and smelled of good fried food.

After getting settled and figuring out what they wanted to eat, Zan stirred his ice water absentmindedly with a straw while studying Destiny across the table. She did seem quieter than usual today. He didn't want to pry but... he was a little concerned, just knowing how hard her life had been as of late. "Is, um... is everything ok? You seem kinda quiet."

"Chinese sounds positively fantastic. Let's invade Tou Han's. We can make a scene there instead." Hunter grinned and put the car in gear, peeling out of the lot with a squeal. It didn't take long to get to the little Chinese place, and soon they were enjoying their meal.

"I guess Jett did confirm he'll come play a driver today," Hunter mused in between bites of his beef. "Not sure it's quite what Eli had in mind, but it'll have to do." He paused in thought for several moments. "Forgot to ask, did Axel ever... put in his notice at work?" He knew it was a sensitive topic, but did want to know for Ryan's sake.
