Don't Wake Me Up

Hunter felt like he was melting into Ryan's embrace. How she did that to him was a mystery, but there was no denying it. Just soaking in her affections for the longest time, he absorbed and returned her kisses, wondering how he could possibly be happier.

Eventually he pulled away and grinned down at her, before rubbing her nose with his. "A fella can have too much of a good thing, ya know..." He sighed and withdrew, pulling her up too, and rooted around in the couch until he had her curled on her side in front of him...just how he liked it. He kissed the back of her head and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "You know I shouldn't let you spend all night again," he whispered and kissed her head again. "But you also know I don't the energy to tell you to leave." Another sigh of content surfaced. "So I'm gonna focus my one-track mind on the movie. And if I fall asleep...." He gave her a squeeze. "...don't wake me up, okay?"

Reese welcomed Sam into his office honestly having been wondering about her today. He had hoped things would go well with Aaron, but had been just a bit concerned with them being out so long. Hearing the outing had gone well, he was pleased. Hearing also Aaron's willingness to talk, Reese's eyebrows rose. "I'm impressed, Sam. Good work." He nodded slowly. "It's a little late in the day for such a heavy discussion. You should be in on it for more than one reason... how about tomorrow? I'll be here all day, except for lunch. Maybe in the morning?"

Travis was just cutting into a bale of hay when Ashlee came up beside him. Smiling and nudging her back, he closed his knife and put it in his pocket. "Oh, you know... feeding hungry horses."

He abandoned the hay for a moment so he could turn to her, still smiling. He put a finger under her chin before leaning down and giving her a soft kiss on the lips. "Good morning to you too." There was something in her eyes this morning... it wasn't much... but it resembled a small rain cloud. Travis knew Dylan had left already - was that it?

"Come on." He handed her a sheet of hay and pulled one out to carry, too. "Soon as we're finished feeding, there's coffee waiting with our names on it."

"How you two doing back there?" Rick glanced in the rearview mirror as he drove.

"Hmm?" Jason stirred from where he'd been leaning in the corner of the back seat, dozing off. "Fine." He opened one eye to look at Katie. "Yep."

Rick grinned. "Little early for you?" He glanced at Dylan in the passenger seat. "I think you're the only one used to these hours."

Dylan gave him a little smirk. "Eh. My sister will tell you I can sleep with my eyes open, so you're never quite sure about me."

Rick chuckled and returned his eyes to the road. It was going to be a long day but worth it.

Dylan sank back a little and watched the passing scenery. Three months wasn't very long, really. But it felt like this he was entering into a whole new world.
