Feed Mill

Clint glanced over to Wendy from the stove, then returned his gaze to the eggs so he wouldn't burn them. "Um... toast is done, I think, if you wanna grab that." He wasn't doing much... He'd considered bacon or sausage, but both were in the freezer, and he hadn't wanted to take time to thaw them out. He'd added some cheese and a little pepper to the eggs though.

Turning off the burner, he grabbed a hot pad before bringing the skillet to the table and setting it down. He was glad Wendy was at least up and talking to him. He'd half expected a cold shoulder this morning. It didn't take long to get settled at the table, Chase in his high chair, and Dara still in Clint's arms as he tried to get her to feed from her bottle while trying to eat something himself at the same time. He was quiet, his face void of any smile, his eyes still wearing the same dim look they'd slowly gained over the last few months.

"They're looking for more workers at the feed mill," he eventually mentioned quietly. "Pays pretty good. Hours aren't all that great but it would be more than I'm bringing in now." Business here in the garage simply hadn't picked back up again. "Thought I might go apply..." He finally looked up to see how Wendy would react to the suggestion of him working somewhere other than the ranch.

Jason grimaced and nodded to Misty before he went to the bed and sat up against the pillows. It was probably best that he just get out of her way. He still felt badly though, for the mess. And deep down... he was a little scared. What if his lack of control got worse? What if it was worse than last time? What if he hurt someone?

Katie's communication made him flinch before he realized what it was.

Yeah, sorry about that. Caught me by surprise too. I'm alright. Shaky but better. I... may have blown a few things up in here... You okay?

Having heard the small commotion outside the cubicle, Kirk lifted his eyebrows at Adison. He scooted his chair backward into the walkway and looked up at Ron with question. "What was that all about?

Looking up at Sam, Hal smiled in spite of her question. "Exciting is relative." He shrugged it off. "But I'm not sure cleaning up an accidental mess is fun."

He swiveled around and immediately changed the subject. "Still coming over for fish tonight, right?"

"Good." Hunter was glad Ryan had had a good day. He'd been a little worried about her reaction to her car, but even that had gone well. He smiled with content and focused on his pizza and pop until he was full, but there was still quite a bit of the movie left yet.

Once he saw Ryan was done eating too, he shifted over on the couch and laid on his side, pulling Ryan down in front of him so her back was against his chest. Wrapping his arm around her, he hooked his leg around hers too, tucking her in close. Sighing deeply, he felt his whole body relax. He'd missed this since being in Texas.
