First Born

Taking a bite of her own taco after putting some sauce on it Sam couldn’t help but feel like she was in heaven. She usually went out to eat a lot but it had been a long time since she just had tacos. Boy did they taste good too. Finishing off the taco and licking her fingers Sam thought about Aaron’s question for a long while before taking on a very serious look.

“I’ll need your first born child please!”

Letting it linger in the air for a moment Sam couldn’t take it much longer and a smile spread across her lips as she laughed. A balance between hard, and soft needed to be found and right now she was in a rather silly mood just trying to figure Aaron out herself. Who was he, and how could she help him.

“Honestly …I don’t want anything. I just want you to not die from that horrible crap you said was in the TV dinners.”

Coming out of the kitchen and seeing her mom Ashlee wondered over leaning down and giving her a kiss on the cheek before straightening again. Looking to Eric she smiled.

“Hey, Travis and I are going to do lunch together if that’s ok.”

Looking up at her daughter and cocking her head Stacy studied her for a moment. Something seemed different about Ashlee and she couldn’t help but worry just a little. She’d never had to deal with boys in her daughter’s life and she wondered if maybe they were moving just a little fast. She had confidence that Ashlee was smart enough not to get into trouble but still.

“Why don’t you guys just eat in here with everyone.”

“Aw mom come on. We just want to have a quiet lunch, its noisy in here and not very private.”

“Ok, but for dinner I want you with the family. To much a lone time can be bad.”

Turning Ashlee left the mess hall in a hurry and made her way across the lawn. Seeing Travis and giving him a thumbs up she couldn’t help the small chuckle. She had never gone against what her mom had said before and though she felt a little bad, at the same time it was a little exciting too.

“Good to go when you are.”

As Eli came into the room and wrapped her in his arms Ryan nestled into him and just continued to cry. It had been a long time since she had a bad dream like this and she hated it. Once again though she was so thankful for Eli’s strong loving arms. Where would she be honestly without him?!

“It was horrible, the laughing, the names, Tal….Alec…I saw him get shot….I…I…”

Burying her face deeper into Eli Ryan’s tears just continued. The last time she remembered every crying this bad was when their fathers had died.

Coming over to Eli Zidan nudged his arm with his nose. He was just as worried about Ryan as he was. Looking at Ryan and then back to Eli he gave a little whimper wondering if his master would be ok.
