Erm...

Garret squinted at the half-closed door even after Nate had left. What would they decide to do? He'd given him all the information he could - they should be able to figure the rest out on their own, right? But what was with the comment about yardwork? What was Nate really trying to say?

Finding himself tired again, he slid down to curl up on his side once more. How long would this go on? How long would he feel like a foreigner? How long would he feel like...this?

He could just hear Nate's muffled voice down the hall. Was he calling back to headquarters? What if Garret told him what would really work? What if he helped more? He sunk his head further into his pillow and closed his eyes. They didn't need him. Nobody did.

"Great." Reese sighed as he listened to Nate relay the information. "At least it makes a little more sense now but I don't know what we're going to do about it. Are you coming back in? I think we need to get our team together and start seriously looking for this shooter. We've got to find him before Jason's out in the open again."

Pacing his office, he paused by the door, realizing Kirk was coming his way. "I can't let him get any more hurt than he already is. Even if I have to lock him in here myself."

"Mm, watch me close...." Jason's eyes fell shut, but he grinned anyway as Katie joined him on the bed.

"Hey, Doc," he muttered, keeping his eyes closed. "When do I get to go home?"

Rick rolled his eyes and just kept working at the counter. "How about letting the drugs wear off first. Anyone ever tell you that you got loose lips when medicated?"

"Uh huh." Jason's grin remained "That's why Katie's here...to keep them in line."

Rick straightened, his eyes going wide before glancing over his shoulder. "Misty...remind me to use a different drug next time, will you?"

Jason slipped his good arm around Katie and gave her a playful squeeze. "Nu-uh," he answered, even though it wasn't his conversation anymore. "This is too much fun."

"Oh good grief." Rick returned to his work. "You won't think so when the pain killers start wearing off."

Chance couldn't help his murmur of approval at Destiny's passionate affection, and returned her kiss willingly. Just resting on her, his arms slid around her to hold her, hid hands gently rubbing her shoulders.

"Sweet enough...yet?" he teased as he moved down to her neck again, lingering there for several moments of kisses. He moved up to her ear, then back across her cheek to her lips again. "I can't tell," he mumbled. "Gotta...wait...some more..."

The move droned on, but went completely ignored. Chance had missed this...and he knew good and well they hadn't been this passionate even since getting back together. He wasn't just going to let the opportunity slip by as long as she let him enjoy this moment with her.
